it was late. rushing back on my bike so as to avoid admonition, it started to drizzle.
quick, i told myself as raindrops the size of marbles started pouring down, hitting onto surfaces of my body exposed to the outside world.
man that kinda hurt! the rain has always been a sort of pleasure for me, it washes away, that guilt in me, as well as the troubles that you never seem to be able to shake off in a typical, boring day. and suddenly, i seemed to enjoy each drop of rain
. precipitation, i thought, as we learnt in science
, what a wonder. its hard to say but its no easy feat to prevent a lingering mind while driving in the rain when i realised i was still on the expressway and as usual i did a time-check
. 2:34am. i regretted, for staying out late and each time making my parents worry. i regretted for who i am, the delinquent, the black sheep of the family, whose misdemeanours are far too many to be counted. i wanted forgiveness
. mom must be worried sick already! the thought of that, i sped up, a reflex action i could say. all i could do now was pump up the accelerator, as i gripped on tighter to the motorbike. zooming past the scarce traffic that this hour is easy though, as i rush to reach my destination..
alas! i'm reaching... i sped on, not concerned of the thunderstorm brewing above me. as i reached the final traffic junction, the lights started to turn amber.
damn. i decided not to care as i attempted to break the traffic rules this once.
almost there, i told myself as the lights switched to a bright red. it was too late to stop, as i sped across the cross junction.
what the?! as out of the corner of my eye, bright headlights shone against me, so bright it could blind an animal. and before i could realise anything, i was thrown out of my bike, flung 20 metres away as right before my eyes, my bike was utterly flattened, and in front of it, a truck. numbness struck me as excruciating sharp pain shot through my head. i looked down towards my lower body, a total wreck. the white shirt, the one my mom bought for me as my birthday, stained with a colour i could faintly make out as red, as a brilliant red liquid pooled from my side. further down, i could feel nothing in my left leg. all i could feel was, pain. in the distance, i can vaguely see two figures, running in my direction. my vision beginning to blur, as my head begin to throb badly as i realised it was bleeding as well. the two figures seem to grow fainter yet nearer in distance. i forced to keep my eyes open, it was difficult.. and soon it was total darkness.
mom, dad, i'm sorry..i was dead.
