faint nudging.
huh? i awoke to a start, as i fought hard to lift those heavy eyelids. all was dark.
what's going on? my head throbbed as if a thousand needles were pierced into it. a dressing table, at least a dozen other beds, a ceiling fan... that was what i was able to make out the dark and moments ago, i sure felt a prod in the arm. i saw no one as i frantically turned right and left. the room was empty. other than the pain in the head, all my injuries seemed to have recovered, as a vauge memory of an accident flashed in my mind, a serious one i had.
hmmm. then out of the corner of my eye, the wooden door at the end of the room slowly creaked open, and there stood an oddly dressed man. he was clad in a leather cloak, and appeared to be in his late sixties
. ta, ta, ta... his walking stick made a sound with each step he took as he inched closer to where i was situated, each some echoing through the room, as if light on mirror. huddled in the thick velvet blanket, fear seem to take over me as i pondered his origin and before long, our eyes met.
'ahhh, how are you my boy?' the man spoke with a tinge of maturity yet vibrant despite of his age. 'f-fine, i g-guess.' my voice quivered, due in part to the cold atmosphere and the fear that was building up in me. and all of a sudden, a shot of warmth spread through me as his hand contacted mine. it was a feeling i have never felt before, a feeling of closeness, of family. immediately, i fell into a deep sleep, as tiredness got the better of me. it was a dreamless yet rejuvenating one as my body seem to regain its energy and rigour, like that of the past, or even better. it seemed like hours, or days when i finally woke up. no headaches, no pain in my once battered body. the man was gone, and the room, empty as it was before, but this time, sunshine streamed in from one of the glassless windows, casting shadows of the beds on the stone walls of the room.
ahhh, i felt refreshed like never before. i stood up as i decided to explore the place. taking a step over to the window, a view as breathtaking as ever entered my eyes.
wow! i was staring at the finest horizons on earth, against an ocean of brilliant blue, and the never-ending sky. furthermore, i realised i was in more of a castle than a hospital, as to the right of my view was one of the many towers, like that of old fairytales with princesses and dragons. 'hey you!' i spun around with surprise as a voice from behind me echoed through the room...
